A sammelband of twenty-six very scarce mid nineteenth century tracts, largely published by the Religious Tract Society, and anonymously authored. A volume of twenty-six religious tracts, bound together in 1867 by one Mr William Kirk of the Ballast Hill Bottle Works, and presented by him to Mr Robert Park. A typed notice to the front pastedown provides this explanation, while a typed notice to the front free endpaper described this work as a 'Selection of Religious Tracts; Mr. Gladstone on Civilisation and Christianity; and Rules of Post Office Savings Banks&apos.Each tract is faintly numbered in pencil to the head.The majority of the works in this volume are very scarce anonymously authored brief sermons on a number of subjects. Published by the Religious Tract Society, these are: "New Year"s Day" by Rev. F. A. West; "To-Day"; "Vain Glory and True Glory"; "Scripture Encouragements to Prayer"; "The Christian Sabbath"; "Am I Going to Heaven?", abridged from Baxter; "A Man Overboard! In the original calf covered boards. Significant rubbing to back strip head and tail, board perimeters and joints. Label to front board significantly age toned.
